Advent is a period of waiting and preparing to celebrate the birth of Jesus. In the tradition of the Christian Church, in the four weeks leading up to Christmas, the invitation presented to us is to celebrate this waiting by reflecting on the beauty and power of fulfilling the divine promise to his people: Jesus was born!

“[…] the government has been placed in his hands; and he has been named Wise Guide, Strong God, Father for ever, Prince of Peace” (Isaiah 9:6).

The boy was born and although there was no room for him in the city's hotels, God had already provided a place for him to be transformed into an environment of communion and sharing. If at the time of Jesus the transformed place was a stable, today this place is our heart, our home, our community of faith, our society.

In this time of waiting, which is not a vain wait, we wait in trust and, for this reason, let ourselves be transformed by the message of Christmas, by the presence of the risen Christ who invites us:

“Even as the Father has given me his love, so I have given my love to you: be ever in my love.” (John 15:9).
